Between Jim and I, we have just about every faction covered, with the possible exception of the Ladies Temperance Union. Bless them!
I'm assembling a town.
Jim has cavalry.
We both have Indians.
I have the barrel wagon from Things from the basement.
We have Texas Rangers, so more than enough ruffians.

As for The Ladies, I have some prim and proper mounted 18th C ladies from Minden.
But I really think I need a buckboard or three. With Western Ladies wearing proper hats.

Nobody will get killed. Like in the rpg ‘Toon, they will just Fall Down.

Now I have to try to watch the movie again, after 30-40 years.
Yes. Beer was involved in thinking I needed to do this game. 🍺👍

Great movie and would make a great game.
Love to know how it played out.

Sounds great! But you need--I think I made it ten players? No, nine:
1) Regular whisky wagons, with Frank Wallingham--taxpayer and good Republican.
2) Striking Irish with champagne.
3) Denver Citizens Militia with Oracle Jones.
4) Temperance Women.
5,6,7) Three factions of Cheyenne. (Chief Five Barrels and his brothers in law aren't going to share, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual.
8,9) Col Gearhart with main body of 5th Cavalry, moving in detached contact and Captain Slater protecting both rears simultaneously.

Be sure to let us know how it turned out. And if you use a points system to measure victory, I'd be very curious as to how Lee Remick and Pamela Tiffin rate in terms of whiskey barrels and crates of champagne.

There's a Eureka figure of a woman in a bathtub. So I have Lee Remick covered. Or, uncovered…

So ended the great disaster at Quicksand Bottoms. Oh, yes… Mrs. Massingale… Cora Templeton Massingale retired from all active participation in temperance movements. A military wedding was held at Fort Russell. As it turned out, it was a double wedding. A homestead claim was filed by Mister Jones and Mister Wallingham on a piece of land encompassing the entire Quicksand Bottoms area.

It's not to be denied that there were occasional re-emergences of whisky kegs, which kept Mister Jones and Mister Wallingham… eh… eh… quite content for a number of years. And, in spite of all predictions, shaggy hair and busy beaver to the contrary, the winter of 1867 turned out to be the driest and warmest on record. Such was the year… oh, pioneer West… and the days of the Hallelujah Trail.

What a great idea, looking forward to hearing more about it as it develops!

I need 28mm Women's Christian Temperance Union figures.
A Google search for "28mm Western women" came up with quite a few on Etsy who did not exactly fit the description of "Christian Temperance", if you get my drift. 🙄
That included quite a few can-can dancers, and one maiden armed with a crossbow.
I found a few buckboard wagons, though.

I think I need to rewatch this magnificent classic again.

Or, Suffragettes. They seem similar. Proper Victorian ladies.

Maybe some of the female civilians from Wargames Foundry would do the trick:

Oh, they look interesting. Thanks for the link.

I watched it last night for the first time in years.
Yup. I need a bunch of buggies and buckboards, and seated Suffragettes. Or Ladies Christian Temperance Union.

Googling "28mm Suffragettes" I came across a long OOP boardgame called "Suffragettes" that had miniatures. No indication of availability or price.

A true Classic!

Great movie. If you squint in the scenes with the ladies you can see my mother in law as well as other officers wives from the PHS hospital in Gallup.

Our group did this before the pandemic when there were more of us. It was a blast and a half. Need to do it again. For buckboards we used the ox pulled wagons from our Zulu games.
