For reasons, I'm looking for something to allow my troops to climb up a sheer surface. I need something that is conceptually flexible and stowable, so no solid ladders or stairs. I'm imagining something like a (nautical) Jacob's ladder, rope ladder or the kind of (cargo?) net sometimes hung over the sides of a ship to permit survivors to be rescued from the water. Any ideas where I can find a custom model of such a thing? Or ideas for something which could be repurposed as a model climbing net or ladder for 1:56 figures? My internet searches have all drawn a blank – I keep getting real-world play equipment :-( . |

Do you want to have it rolled up and stowed to the back of figure, or placed up against an obstacle? Rolled up rope ladder would look like a bunch of sticks with a couple of bands wrapped around it to keep it together. Should be quite straightforward to construct from plastic rod cut into bits and glued together – the bands could be made from strips of paper. As for something to represent a large net placed on the side of a ship or wall, I would probably head to a grocery store and take a look at the various webbed bags used for packaging onions, avocados, oranges and other fruit and vegatable. |

Take a look at a washer lint trap. I use one that is a mesh of a soft metal. It could be cut so as to provide a flat mesh that could be used for 28 mm. I find mine in the washing soap aisle at the supermarket. |
