Many years ago, DM Scotty, who is a master of crafting inexpensive dungeon tiles, and many more crafting themes all aimed at his then 4e D&D games (all adaptable to any miniatures gaming genre!), created the ProBoards forum found here. The forum contains literally many thousands of posts on various crafting topics, far beyond what this forum covers. It also includes posts concerning painting miniatures. It is a cornucopia of nearly all things crafting-related: posts, photo's, and videos. These techniques are all adaptable to any genre: historical, Sci-Fi, horror, fantasy, etc.
Sadly, after many years of postings by many luminaries of the D&D crafting genre, DM Scotty walked away from the incredible forum he built, in favor of FaceBook (FB). FB, however, pushes every post down its homepage with every new post entered -- this does not function well for such crafting ideas to be easily found and shared, as they pretty much disappear over time.
After said forum languished for multiple years, without any Administrators caring for it, the ProBoards administrators granted me the privilege of being made an administrator of it, to keep it functioning, preserving its incredible library of crafting ideas, techniques and information extraordinaire.
The membership system is functioning again -- I only recently learned that new memberships could not be requested! The DM's Crafting Forum is fully open for business once again.
If you have an interest in taking a deep dive into what can be crafted for your miniatures games, please visit The DM's Craft Forum -- you will find more than a decade of posts, ideas, and topics far beyond what is covered here. Be forewarned, crafting can quickly become an addiction. DM Scotty's videos are linked in, with discussions. Once you start down the crafting rabbit hole, you will be down there for some time -- enjoy your journey. Cheers!
