In 1912, young naval officer Chester W. Nimitz wrote about submarine tactics; in May 1915, he personally experienced the impact of such warfare via a unique connection to the sinking of the Lusitania.

A very touching story.It was an eerie connection to one of the greatest admirals of the 20th century. Hornfischer described him as the "essential man in the Pacific. May all these people RIP.
