Cherry-picking two campaigns (1806 & 1813) is not a valid sample for this analysis, especially when the former was such an outlier as probably the most successful cavalry exploitation ever. There are also just so many other differences between the armies in the two campaigns that it can't all be assigned to Napoleon's lack of cavalry. |

"It is the task of the cavalry to pursue a victory and forbid a beaten enemy the opportunity to rally. Without cavalry battles remained undecided." As I recall, Napoleon – and I also agree, I suspect the enemy armies had something to do with it in 1813! |
