While at the Hammerhead wargames show on March 1 I slipped away a few miles to Newark's National Civil War museum. YouTube link The building is on several floors and features armour, equipment and an explanation of Newark's pivotal role in the centre of England during the Civil War. The top floor has exhibits devoted to Poland's role in the Second World War. There is a Polish cemetery just outside Newark. Barry |

It's a great museum, visited there in 2022. Exhibition on top floor then was to do with communications over the years. Including an explanation of how dial telephones work, which I thought was rather amusing. The film about the siege of Newark is well worth a watch too in one of the downstairs rooms |
