I have some priest figures to accompany my Mexican army. What color would their robes be in this time period? Black, white, brown, natural wool?

Hitman20 Jan 2025 2:48 p.m. PST

I believe natural wool is correct.

I would think either black or natural wool.

Also depends on their order – such as Dominicans, etc.

Wool and the colour is order dependent – for parish priests, black, for other orders depends but brown was very common

For example, Jesuits or Benedictines wore black, Augustinians white or grey depending on their role in the order, Franciscans , Carmelites or Capuchins brown
