…do.

My fave, not Bond aside;

Knights is an excellent film starring Kris Kristofferson from the 90s. The leader is Lance Hendrickson.

It seems pretty rare, but had a vhs release, apparently DVD in South Africa? I think.

Im not sure of the full background of the film. A DVD with decent bonus features would help.

Its got a good story and awesome costumes.

The budget seemed to run out by the end, but, as a post apoc film, is still ok despite it.

It was set up for a sequel that never came??

It was about a girl living in a future earth?? Or similar planet where vampiric cyborgs roam the land.

Another, KK, is killing them.

The girl is looking for her brother.

I won't spoil it.

The cyborgs were weirdly very well done, costumes, characterisation, acting.

Its like it was meant to be a much bigger film.

I watched a sound of thunder recently, and that suffered from writers strikes and post production issues. Still another good film. The CGI is not high level for the time (who needs it anyway), but it's at least consistent.

Specking off…

The mysterious island with Partick Stewart had CGI that degraded as you went, until the final stuff with the giant spiders was so poor that they were just geometric previs. Even worse, when the camera panned, a dead spider went with it.

It seemed cleaned up upon future screening, but I'd have to check.

Not sure why this is in 3d printing…

Knights sounds like a B movie for sure. I'll see what i can find.

The Patrick Stewart "Mysterious Island" was a crime. He must have been hard up for money.

Oh, come on. They once asked Lord Olivier in a very snarky manner why he played MacArthur in Inchon. "For the money, dear boy. For the money."
"Hard up for money"?
Seriously? Actors act. It's their job. It pays for the house in Capua. The house in Malibu. The jet.
Once he finished Star Trek he's supposed to go into retirement?

Yes, and no. Actors are not monolithic. Some will take any part offered, some are more discriminating, and some perform in crappy movies because they are hard up for cash.

Again I'd side with John – Stewart made Millions off Star Trek, and X-men, and a lot of other stuff. And it pays for a very nice lifestyle. And now if he wants to do theatre at some relatively tiny place for a few months in a play most people don't want to see then he can (and does).

Many of the (older) people who appeared in the Harry Potter films referred to them as their "pension fund". And why not?

"A gig's a gig."— Every working actor, ever.

"Not sure why this is in 3d printing"

It had a deleted op.

I got like Tolkien.

TNG cost 1 million an episode.

Patrick Stewart didn't get 1 million an episode.

Big bang actors did.

Also, many actors spend a lot to keep up a life style. Both in glam, and in security, agents, publicly, so on.

Also remember that where they live and film, prices are likely very high.

Money doesn't last for ever.

I think mysterious island came just after trek, so he probably was a bit out of touch with picking things.

Robert Patrick was sleeping in his car when he got the T2 gig.

Chick from JP lost world took the gig because of divorce costs.

Will Shakespeare, some black boyband member living in a tent, a recent interview with a British playmate living in a tent, it's a long list.

Acting: A foundation of the gig economy.

Very much so, and I'd guess that's a habit that's hard to shake. Look at Patrick Stewart again – up to 40 he's a stage (RSC so doing well) and TV actor, and not many lead roles. Excalibur is a profile-raising film – and he's 40 by then. Dune, when he's a few years older and the big time finally arrives when he hits his late forties.

But even when he's making Star Trek movies he's still taking roles in films that probably even his most ardent admirers would struggle to recall. And starts lending his voice to an endless series of animated films of, to be objective, varying quality.

Similarly Ian McKellen – who did a lot less TV and a lot more movies but still didn't hit it really big until he was 60.

Never forget that Sean Connery once wore a red diaper with suspenders and thigh high go-go boots in a sci-fi film because he needed the money. At the end of the day one must pay the bills. No shame in that.

Zardoz is a great film !

Connery took a variety of roles to shake off Bond as much as anything.

Old Robin Hood, High Noon in Space (Outland), The Man Who Would be King, and in the 80s non-franchise Bond
