Hi,
starting new biblical project and am considering individual basing. 12 figure units. Looking for the magic compromise between Low Fall Over Instance, 20mm round bases,
or looks More Like a Warband, 15mm round bases.
Does anyone have either and can recommend?
I would like to be on the right path before ordering.

I was doing skirmish gaming with 15mm, and I found that roughly 20mm washers were perfect. I'm sure though that the smaller size will work as well.

Thank you. I was going to use wooden but washers would give it a heavier, and therefore more stable, base.

The only challenge with washers, even fender washers with smaller center holes, is that a small figure (15-18mm) may not have a large enough base to get enough of a contact surface between the figure base and the washer.

I have been converting my 15mm ACW forces to "Fire and Fury" basing where the special markers require a 3/4" (19mm) round base. I'm using Litko brand bases and see no trouble with any "fall over" with either 20mm or 15mm round bases.

Washers are common and easy to find. I examined some 15mm American WW2 mounted on Pennie's.

I prefer steel washers for the individual figures and magnet sheets for the boxes.

You can always glue thin card (or some material) to the top of the washer and glue the figure to the card. That worked for me in the past.

I use Bingo chips, my Mother in Law was a Bingo nut & I ended up with the chips. I don't know if they are still available.

I like square bases for individual figures. It is easier to tell for sure which way the figure is facing, what is the flank, etc.

I get the steel bases from Wargame Accessories. I try to keep the bases small so the figures will fit in tight terrain like fox holes, wagon beds, on balconies, etc.

I 3D print my bases. I print ovals 10mm wide x 15mm deep x 1.5mm high. They rank up in a traditional 40mm x 15mm sabot base, Or break out individually.

You want what are called stamping blanks: link

Otherwise Wargames Accessories for steel squares.

Pennies or nickles, cheap and give good ballast.

Lamenting the vanishing of pennnies from Canada, I buy 20mm plastic bases

Thank you everyone for your help. I'm Australian and my first round bases, way back when, were 5c coins. But they are disappearing now. :)
