Can any of you good people identify the manufactruer of this Grenadier. Ive recently come back to painting up some 15mm figures and have been using these odd figures that I had left from other projects. However, its been so long since I purchased them, probably at a convention, that I forget who the manufacturer is. I used to use a lot of TTG, now Alternative Armies figures, but theyre not by them. I used these for my Saxon Guard infantry. I thought they were Essex Minatures as I moved to using them for parts of a Prussian Army I built up. I've scoured loads of photos online to try and find who they were made by with no conclusive results so thought I'd ask on here. I suspect theyre someones French? Old Guard figure, but whose????

Looks like an Old Glory figure to me.

I think it's a Essex figure

I'd have called them TTG, as like you, I used a lot of TTG. But I kinda think, maybe the old Jacobite line. They had a strange little square base. I know that I had some of these way back in the 80's, and recall having a hard time standing them up and gluing onto bases.

He looks very Essex,

Looks Essex to me, especially with the micro base..

Essex

Hmm. I didn't think it looked stocky enough for Essex.

TTG are still available from Alternative Armies. I didn't think he looked TTG sculpting style, or base type.

But then I have no better ideas.

Amazing how far 15mm has come compared to back in the day.

Not as derailed as Heritage/Empire. Not Minifigs 1edition or 3generation with square bases. Not 2genration thick rectangular bases.
May be TTG.

Guys, thanks for the comments. I should have said clearly I pretty certain its not Essex minature, certainly not like the one one their site. you'll see his right arm is up too high to his waist, although otherwise very close.

Its certainly not TTG either, I still buy those from Alternative Armies Brickdust range. Yeah, they're not as detailed as some castings now but the are 15mm not 18mm and they form the basis of a lot of my armies. I was wondering if they could be Dixon minatures Age of Boanaparte range which doesnt seem to be avaialable now. I'm guessing these came as a pack of 8 too hence why I had some left over.

Anyway here's two of the fellars painted as the greandier company of the Neuchatel Battalion.

I know that I had some of these back in the 80's. I sold in order to buy Old Glory. But darn, I still do like the look of these. Maybe just nostalgia.

Is this possibly a Jacobite (Simtac) figure? I'm not having any luck finding an online catalog, but the musket and the thick rectangular base look Jacobite-like to me.

Could it possibly be an old Mike's Models?

KeepYourPowderDry Supporting Member of TMP16 Dec 2024 12:27 p.m. PST

Not Jacobite, Jacobite were slightly angular in their sculpting. Plus the figures haven't snapped at the ankles.

RittervonBek16 Dec 2024 12:35 p.m. PST

Roundway miniatures perhaps?

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions but I'm coming to the conclusion that what ever make these are or we're, they're not available anymore.
