For your tabletop army, how many cannons are needed to fully equip your Orc army? * 1 * 2 * 3 * my Orcs do not use cannons * I do not use cannons in my fantasy gaming |

My orcs are pre-gunpowder era orcs. |

One time I took my Polish Renaissance army (Kislev, doncha know!) against a mixed Orc Goblin army. They didn't have cannons. But I did. 🙄 Great carnage ensued. Maybe they later got cannons, but I never saw them again. I imagine they could have done damage against Winged Hussars. |

Cannons, muskets and crossbows are wrong for Fantasy in my book. I enjoy Oathmark so much for this reason!- amongst many others. |

Depends on whose Orcs they are and the size of the army, it is fantasy so unless mirroring a particular tale/ book who cares, Tally Ho! |

I have a large unit of Foundry mercenary Orcs link the largest has a shoulder fire armed with a goblin loading crew that could be thought of as a cannon. But no other cannons. I have not yet fielded them in a game. x42 |

Wouldn't this also depend on the size of the Orc army? But I don't have much use for the "every fantasy army must have every type of unit" school. I'm content to have Orcs without such high-tech weapons and Dwarves without cavalry. |

None: Dwarves get cannons. Orcs get cannonballs, delivered at speed. Okay, sometimes men get cannons, too. (EXCEPTION: Armada Orc ships have cannons. But so do all the others. It's a fantasy naval game; of course it involves cannon!) I am not required to be consistent; merely to have fun. |

Why use cannons when a couple of acres of goblins can do it for sheaper? |
Andrew Walters | 07 Nov 2024 8:51 a.m. PST |
I have never considered this question, but if a nice STL file of an ork cannon and crew fell in my lap, my orks would get cannon. I don't think I'd get religious about it. I assume we're talking about fantasy orks. If it's 40K orks then they don't get cannon, they get truks, because that's canon. While I was typing this my computer turned "ork" into "oak", then "irk", then "work". It won't give up trying to help. |

I have some fantasy cannons themed in "good" and "evil", but none specically assigned or tailored to specific fantasy forces. I've never considered deploying them with Orcs … Orcs! Crunch all you want … we'll make more!
See … that's what AI art is useful for. Also this …

Never even thought to give Orcs cannons. |

My Orcs don't have them. But thinking about it, it would be rather fun. There could be a good chance it blows up, barrel skews around, gunners grab a snotling for ammo, etc. |

My orcs and goblins army (Warmaster figures but based for HOTT) does not have cannon. |
