They planned to play with Yura Boyarin. And this means that there will be something non-standard and interesting. It is clear that they decided to play out a historical scenario based on the Polish campaign of 1939. True, Yura expressed a desire not to defend, as usual, but to attack. I admit, I did not immediately remember something similar from the Polish campaign, but after a little digging in my memory, I found it. We decided to play out the events of literally the second week of the war. This is an attempt by the Poznan group to break through to Warsaw. In history, these events remained under the general name: "Battle on the Bzura". The battle lasted more than 10 days and ended with the encirclement and capture of the Polish group. I will tell you more about this below in a small historical note. But it all started quite briskly for the Poles. An attack on communications in the flank of the 30th Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht. The attack was quite successful. The Germans were thrown back 15-20 km beyond the Bzura River. Several towns were liberated. Germany had to cancel the first assault on Warsaw, urgently transfer two army corps, etc. The events unfolded over several days. Therefore, we decided to hold three games under this general name. Today is the first. Conventionally, the Germans are under a powerful, sudden Polish attack. Then there will be a counter battle and in the end, the Poles are in deep defense trying to break out of encirclement. In addition to everything, today is the debut of my grandson (Alexander Sergeyevich). True, he has not played yet, but only watched and "worked part-time" as the God of War – Mars, pulling cubes out of a bag. And how Mars? More like Marsenok…"
