I am using Plastruct Buty. Coated Wire in a model project that requires pieces about one inch long with about 1/8th of an inch of the plastic part stripped off of each end of the wire.

Is there an easy way to do this or a tool that will help me make it faster?

I need several hundred of these pieces as axles for several hundred trucks.

I tried a wire stripper but it bends the wire which is not good for axles.

I just use wire strippers, like electricians use.

Pretty sure there are smaller versions of these out there. These can probably be found at Lowe's, Home Depot or Harbor Freight.

I have used an exacto blade to cut around the coating then use a kelly clamp to gently pull off the covering without bending the wire.
