What percentage of your miniature games do you document in battle reports, perhaps for a blog or social media?

* 100%
* 90%
etc.

100%

It's a big campaign with many characters who participate or not in each great battle… I write down every detail and action and even take photos to reinforce what I then write in fictional form for each major battle…

I might blog eventually, but I've said that every year. Too much work for me.

99'% – some just aren't recordable! – but not many.

2 games a week no way am I Going to do that. Bad enough 2 bike rides a week. Some games do have a photographic record so as to track week to week if its a long game. If something happens and the table is upset in any way then it can be reset accurately.

Some complex games use a photo print instead of a map for deployments if its very complex and set up by hand not on CADDS.

I blog game reviews, painting accomplishments, home-brew solo play tests and occasional games of all sorts with friends or at Nashcon. I don't always blog about games with friends because of the need for photos; that just slows things down. But I'd say 80%, if it involves miniatures.

20-30%. I take pictures of a lot of my games…but upon review…they turn out not to be to Blog worthy…

1–2%.

Lots of monthly games at the club, no.
Some of the big convention games, yes.

Ran The Cid12 Sep 2024 6:39 a.m. PST

For convention games, I'll generally document the armies used, copies of the documents provided to the players and a few action shots.

Trying to record and blog a play by play seems like so much work, and a high standard to hit.

95%

Very few for a blog or similar external post. Mostly for post game analysis of how it worked.

I don't have a blog, nor anything like that. Nor does anyone else in our group.
So, 0%.

FlyXwire07 Sep 2025 2:11 a.m. PST

80-90%, and here on TMP!

Like John, I don't blog, but we all have access to TMP, which likely has a farther reach than any blog.

Just seems a way to keep the website vibrant, and share our games, ideas, and enthusiasm.

When I was regularly running several miniatures games a year, 100%. I haven't run a miniatures game in a long time, but if I did, I would write and post an AAR … so I guess it's still 100%.
