What the question says.

Especially interested to learn any differences from period tactics as practiced in Europe.

All recommendations welcome!

Several of the newer Ospreys are useful.

With zeal and bayonets only by Matthew Spring[?] Is a good read. I'm currently reading illustrious Corps by Don Hagist which is about Btitish grenadier and light battalions.

Would also recommend reading some of the "Staff Rides" for he various battles – there can be some good information in there as well

Alas the local library does not have these titles. Picked up a book I will not name that implied it was a bout AWI tactics, etc.. Well, it started off okay… and then about halfway through the first chapter, the writer started railing about "right wing talk show hosts" "frothing at the mouth" over comparisons of the AWI to Vietnam (which statement came out of nowhere).
Close book. Toss back in Library Basket for return. Next book…
*Sigh*

Doubt very many libraries would have it. Can they borrow a copy from another library?

Try eBay, go for a used copy.

Here's another good one on my shelves: Patriot Battles: How the War of Independence Was Fought by Michael Stephenson (2007). Author is the former editor of the Military Book Club.
