You can share posts about related conflicts, particularly those involving the French Second Empire or Prussia, such as the Austro-Prussian War, the Franco-Austrian War, and the Second Schleswig War, as these conflicts directly or indirectly set the stage for the Franco-Prussian War.

I'm in the process of converting Foundry figs to do French West African expansion up the Senegal river under Louis Faidherbe 1854-1870. Also looking to do Maximillian French in Mexico, both is 25/28 mm.

Well, back in the 1990s and early 2000s, I wrote an article on the 1864 Danish War. I fortunately had sold some books on eBay to a gentleman from Denmark. Swapping material rather than money was easier back then.

So he went to the museums there and bought a number of booklets and postcards. Ir provided great material. I then got more books through the Internet- library loan program.
Fascinating conflict. The article was in Time Portal Passages and posted on the Magweb site.

I do 1859 and 1866 far more than the FPW. Lots of interesting asymmetrical battles.

There is a 2014 TV Series called "1864" about the Dannish/Prussian and Austrian War. Quite good – very good battle scenes.

I've personally mulled over the idea of a possible Luxembourg Crisis gone hot in order to incorporate additional nations like the Netherlands.

I am considering 2nd Schleswig, though it was a one sided affair historically. Could do some balanced scenarios I guess. Still on the fence. I wanted to do it in 10mm but Pendraken pulled their 1864 Danes, could probably use the earlier ones in 10mm without a problem though.

There's also a good book called ‘1864' that tells the history not the ‘novelised' version in the TV series. Even better if the book ‘Bismarck's First War'.
