Hi,

I've seen mention of removal of casualties from defensive fire being from the front rank, but I cannot seem to find the ruling for normal fire/close action casualties.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Is it necessary to remove casualties?

Do you normally let the removal of casualties affect what formations a unit can adopt?

Thanks

Casualties shot initially come frome front rank then get moved to rear
Loss of figures has not ever forced a unit not to form any formation desired.
I do remove Casualties, I prefer that but do play other systems that don't, and you have no idea how bad your unit or a opponent is then.
Last convention ( Carnage & Glory)had a cavalry unit down to.less than 100 actually men buy every figure was still on tje game board.

Thanks 14Bore,

When do the casualties change from the front rank – rear rank? I know that in defensive fire in R&E its kept on the front rank for the first combat, but then I assume the front rank is filled in before the next impulse?

Right after moral check for those casualties are made

Is it not a question that after casualties are suffered the formation remains the same but the frontage decreases. But how you show that? Maybe if 30% casualties suffered that one less in front rank can fire.

I use whole front of attacking and defending forces to determine enfilades
