"That ain't right. (video)" Topic

I came across this video:

I can't help but wonder if there is some stolen valor going on. He is wearing an officer's coat (black stripe on sleeve) but has enlisted rank.
His coat has officer branch insignia, but his shirt has enlisted.
The US on his coat is enlisted as well.

Looks very suspicious to me.

It's certainly not right, but how old is the geezer in question? When's the last time the US Army had tech sergeants? Technically, he's only entitled to his old uniform, but how many of us still have them? (And how many still fit?) Easy to buy a "new" uniform of a later period second-hand and not get it quite right.

I for one am not going to fly to wherever and demand a look at his 201 file. He's not wearing awards for valor. He's not running for office, or speaking ex officio, as it were. I don't take General Clapper seriously. I see no reason to pay attention to this guy.

I didn't go looking for it, it found me. I don't know what decorations he has, but he is wearing a CIB.
I doubt it is his.

But much like you, after today I doubt I will think of it again.

That video raises concerns far more serious for this country than whether a uniform is correct.

Deucey, oh what a civilian attitude worrying about freedom to disagree with a man with a gun and wondering when he'll get a gun and try to act out. If a man is in the correct uniform he's kosher, it's a military thing [whether it should be is another question]. I am of course engaging in sarcasm here [maybe].
