I ordered some figures Sunday, and today I got an email from the Post Office saying there had been an error in the address and the package would be returned to the company who shipped in 48 hours if I didn't contact them. The catch is that the address the email came from isn't a US Post Office address, and when I check the shipping status, things seem to be coming along nicely. I haven't placed any mail orders since January, so this seems to be more than just a coincidence. I am beginning to wonder if the USPS or the company has been hacked. Maybe I've been hacked.
Has anyone else had similar problems?

Phishing

I've gotten a few of those in the past. Mine appear randomly and don't seem tied to any specific order. I think there's so much package traffic these days that the bad guys just troll to see what they can catch. Probably just coincidental that you received the email so close to your order.

Tell them to bring it to your house, 101 Close Combat Instructor lane, Killville Iowa and you will deal with it then!

Scams, too bad our government is totally helpless against it.

I've been coming to the unhappy conclusion that our Government is just totally helpless.

Sigh….

Most of my phishing emails claim to be UPS.

I have received a few emails claiming to be from FedEx which have ended up in my junk mail folder saying that a package is being held and that they need my address. Since I haven't ordered anything where they don't know my valid address I have blocked and then deleted them.

This is a known scam. I received some like it a few months ago and then read about it or heard about it in the news. Report it or delete it but don't click on anything!

If you place your cursor over the from address in your list of incoming emails you'll be able to see the actual sending address. That way you can determine whether or not the sender is valid. Best way to stop spam and phishing emails.

The last one I got like that I replied "(Well you have my email address you must also have my home address". I probably should not have answered but I have been waiting on an order from the UK for nearly 2 months now- send it back if there is no street address.

I have lost confidence in the USPS as since the fist of this year they have delivered 6 items to the same address one street over. Must be hiring some of these immigrants to deliver mail these days?

I've watched USPS bounce packages all over the country :/

There are just scams. Sender email addresses are incredibly easy to spoof. Evidently I'm.entitked to a tax refund AND I've won a free TV. The Nigerian Prince with all that cash has been a bit quiet recently though.

USPS is suffering from personnel cuts and the DeJoy "Reorganization", several of the new large Sorting Centers are backlogged (Various "Local" news reports on Youtube); Indianapolis a couple of days ago, a month or more worth of backlogged packages on carts in the warehouse. Similar situation on an audit in Kentucky(?)

Note the "Reorganization" involved closing multiple sorting centers (Get rid of some of those pesky unionized workers too!) (Irony there guys), the real idea seems to have been to truck more things around the country.

DeJoy made his fortune as a (non-union) USPS Trucking Contractor.

Greiber, your email is almost certainly a phishing attack; I get at least one a month, just delete them.

As mentioned above, check the "from" email address.

Or just delete them. Packages are getting stuck in transit he double toothpick.
