I just finished twice playing the Brigade Fire & Fury scenario that is in the rule book of the first day of Gettysburg. It was such a big project to set up the 3-table, 6 x 7 1/2 ft, tabletop featuring the town of G'burg, the iconic buildings on the outskirts of town, and the many roads, sunken road, and railroad cut and the key features of Culp's Hill and Cemetery Hill, that I soloed the game after 4 of us gamed the first phase one fine day. No way we could play 21 turns in a day.
My conclusion is that the scenario is a wonderful example of Rebel General Forest's motto of 'getting there firstest with the mostest.'
It is a long game--21 turns with new brigades and batteries trickling in for both forces through the first 15 turns. The game flows from one end of the tabletop to the other, there's no unused areas, Over 400 stands of miniatures are in play, the casualties are massive. There is a plethora of division and corps generals on the table and an abundance of artillery that can save or crush either side. And the clock ticks down for the Rebs so that the climactic attacks on Cemetery Hill and Culps Hill replicate the Rebs' race with the sun.
And playing solo, the game is exhausting in its scope and length. But what a showcase for my collection of 15-18mm armies and a whole lot of buildings and terrain cut out just for this scenario.
I'd enjoy reading what others think about this scenario played with the Brigade F&F rules.

Sounds pretty good. Did you get any pics of it?

I'd love to see some photos of this as well. I would also need to review this scenario in the rule book. Perhaps a better option for the Confederates would have been to circumvent Culp's and Cemetery Hill altogether, blocked the advance of Union reinforcements, and/or keep those brigades fresh for day 2.

BTW, did you see this listing on Monday's Marketplace? It's super tempting, but I've no place to land it!

You haven't played the first day of Gettysburg until you play it with regiments.
