Hi all, One question? – Does the Dwarf spell 'A Gathering of Crows' work against Artillery? Shielding does not work if you are shot at from their rear if shot at (P169) But the spell description (P175) says you get Shielding (2) from ALL shooting attacks, so including the rear.
Obviously it says (P69) 'An opponent cannot use Shielding against a shooting attack from Artillery'- but 'Crows' is a magical defence. We have gone with saying that 'Crows' is effective against shooting, but not against artillery, so is this correct? Thanks for any responses in advance! |

Its not come in my games yet.
I think your interpretation of Crows (effective against shooting but not artillery) is correct. Maybe you could use this to differentiate spellcaster levels. For example, when a Level 5 casts Crows, then it works against artillery too. |

After talking with Lawrence tonight, we have decided based on a FB reply that as Gathering of Crows is only Casting 4 (very easy) it cannot be more than just giving Shielding 2 to a unit against shooting (IE just to the unit's front). I think this is a good and workable solution, unless Joe joins the conversation? |
