After long cutting, trimming and glueing I finally finished the entire Bavarian Leibregiment at 1:1 Ratio. This means 3 battalions (1 of Grenadiers) of 700 men each for a total of 2100 papersoldiers. Please also note the width of a unit arrayed in this way (700 men on 3 rows). This flashes the total not efficiency of ALL wargames where a unit is made of 16/30 figures arrayed in a short rectangle. I think these pictures should make all of us reflect on this issue. But at least here is possible to have a view of what it meant a Regiment in the XVIII Century.

Wow! What size are these? Where do you fight with them? Looks like the floor is the place big enough. |

I agree the real size of a Battalion in the horse and musket period is much thinner than we depict in games. If you really want to use thin pen lines against each other instead, be my guest! |

That is amazing, thanks for posting. |

@Red Jacket .. happy you enjoyed. Thanks. @Kropotnik They are 25 mm. Every battalion is 120 cm wide. So the only usable place is floor. For a battle I will need an entire yard @79PA thanks @Herkybird: I don't know if using per lines would be a nice view, but by sure all the wargames are wrong as sizes of units |

Wow, just wow. A lot of work but thank you for sharing. |

To each his own. But how would this make a good wargame? |

You can minimise the inaccuracy by representing units in a single closely packed line. |

I'd love to know your technique for cutting these out. I tried a few 10 -12 mm ACW last year and found it way too difficult for my abilities, even with good, small scissors. |

18th Centurty Guy. Thanks @Legionarius: this is a big problem to me too. I solved somehow with the battle of Leuthen (please see my blog) @FASAFan well it takes time: I use 140gr/m2 thick paper, I fold it and I make it precise with back light passing through then I use little scissors.(Plus I have a person helping me that is really great….) |

Thanks @Michael .. it was a hard task… for once completed, even though now I am going back to a 1:5 or 1:7 or even 1:10 scale |
