My NAM collection is growing slowly but surely, this time it's the US Marines with some new additions.
I used to avoid character models, I'm not sure why but after adding Cowboy and the boys from Full Metal Jacket I decided to add Gny Sgt Hartman and Private Pyle, both lovely characters
I also added some Historical Charcters, hard not to when they have names like Captain Christmas, Dale Dye, Lt Col Cheatham and Gny Sgt Frank Thomas and of course with such character captured in these miniatures
I've updated my blog so please feel free to have a look and pop on over to accidentalpainter.blogspot.com Thanks for reading, keep looking and I will keep posting Cheers for now Russ |

Very nice painting. I am so jealous because I could never figure out how to do the basing at all. |

Thanks guys, painting these guys are a real pleasure Stryderg thank you, they really do come to life with a lick of paint. 79thPA thank you its much appreciated. troopwo thank you, its pretty easy to be honest. The small rocks are a mix of fish tank gravel and garden centre alpine gravel. It's just a case of sticking the figures on the base, then stick the gravel/rocks on the base. Once that's dry us PVA glue to cover the rest of the base around the rocks and figures, then cover with sand or fine gravel while the glue is still wet. Then it's just a case of sealing the base with water downed sand coloured paint once the PVA is dry. Then use a deep tone to wash the base over to give depth to the base. Let it dry and then dry brush with the sand colour again. Then again wait untill it's dry and the final highlight of off white to finish it off. Then it's just a case of adding scatter grass and any tufts to finish it off. Hope that helps, if not just let me know and I will try my best to help out. Disc Joe thank you also. They are fantastic figures and I've got a lead pile to work on so there will be many more to come. Thanks again guys for the feedback, it makes painting even more of a pleasure. Cheers for now Russ |
