Anyone planning to pull the trigger for the New EPIC Space Marines?

I fancy the painting challenge they will entail and maybe even playing the game.

Nope

Yes the rule look like a Edited version of 2nd edition. The figures/Tanks are real nice looking.

I was interested before I found out it was pre 40K. I have some Epic 40K stuff and was interested in an expansion, but it turns out that is not what it is.

The new stuff is 8mm, so the old Epic wouldn't fit in anyway. Looks like they dusted off the old rules and really upped the price.

Khazarmac27 Nov 2023 4:41 p.m. PST

Some of the vehicle models look ridiculously complicated to make for an 8mm model.

Saxondog27 Nov 2023 8:47 p.m. PST

Got a hoard of the old stuff. Not going to a new scale.

Interested in seeing the rules. The vehicles look good but a lots of minis are really poor sculpting and moulding.

Not wasting my money on them

I always thought the vehicles in epic were too small for the figures – how do the new vehicles compare to the old figures? (I have tons of the old figures, so not really interested in buying more troops)

JimDuncanUK28 Nov 2023 9:04 a.m. PST

I haven't seen the figures in the flesh or the vehicles for that matter.

I have seen numerous YT videos of hem and they look fine to me.

I played the original EPIC many years ago and then sold my armies for a reasonable profit.

I am attracted to the painting challenge that this collection entails and getting some good gaming with them would be a bonus.

I am sure I could find some fanboys to take them off my hands if I decide to focus elsewhere.

Already made my preorder.

I have a preorder.
I love the new titans, but I also like the idea that they are absolutely huge so I'll probably stick with my large collection of the older, and smaller, epic. And Heresy era or not, all my orks will be battling the emperium.
If the new miniatures blow me away I may change my mind. We'll see.

Im trying to decide whether to dive in on rules only – using my older models for play
