Anyone know of 25mm-28mm ACW slaves? Looking for them for colonial wargames.

Not bad… Now I just need about 20 more different ones. =)

Perrys have a couple that might suit in their civilian pack.

Old Glory, Pirate range, Voodoo Warriors. They are dressed in shabby clothes, just cut the weapons away.

A company in Flordia had a 25mm Plantation pack. I will look for the name. Home???.

doc mcb06 Nov 2005 10:23 a.m. PST

There's a company whose name I've forgotten that makes a bag of "plantation people" — not very detailed castings, but adequate. Also, the Old Glory bag of Mexican villagers from the Pancho Villa range has several women and children than can be painted as black slaves.

Homegrown Miniatures it is. Not very detailed, but not too bad once painted. They also have a few other useful bags such as dead horses and riders.

doc mcb06 Nov 2005 1:36 p.m. PST

I can't make the link for Homegrown work from the manufacturers' directory.

Okay, not too far off topic, does anyone amke 15-18mm slave figures? I've been toying for years with doing a Raid on Richmond scenario, modifying that boardgame into a convention scenario. I hjave plenty of Reb and Yank troops and an inclination to build blocks of buildings, but would need a lot of civilians, white and black. Anybody make those?

All I've managed to find in the way of 15mm Slaves are from
Freikorp 15mm who make a pack called Coloured People-ACW61.
For civilians I tend to look in the Wild West Ranges,

Friekorp 15, Yellow Ribbon Range: IW22 Settlers
Minifigs, Wild West: 91-1071 Civilians – Townsfolk
Peter Pig, Range 15 Wild West: #6 Townsmen, #7 Townswomen and #67 Children
Wildy Inspired Miniatures, Pony Wars: PW12 Settler Woman

I remember Old Glory having civilians in one of the ACW General Personality Packs. I have however heard a rumor that these figures are no longer included. I hope it's not true as they are nice miniatures.

Friekorp 15 also do a pack of 'RWA36-Mollies' in their AWI Range and are described as suitable as camp followers in the SYW range. I have no idea if these would be suitable or not, just thought I would add them.

I am in the process of converting some armed slaves from the 15mm Bucaneer Range by Grump Miniatures for my Brother Against Brother games. One of the many projects on my bench.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Barry (who is off to get a life……)
