My 98 year old father passed away on 29 October 2023. After my wife and I prepared memory boards, I thought his WWII photos and more should be shared rather than returning all to storage too soon. His life will hopefully be interesting and thought provoking for you.

One more invitation. Check out the website for Dad's last outfit, the US Army 776th Tank Destroyer Battalion. The link is in the story.

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and words about your father. These men and women who served during the Second World War were, in my opinion, the most giving generation. Not a cliche – I believe they were the greatest.

May the memory of your father be a blessing.

Condolences and many thanks for sharing – I echo ccmatty's thoughts – No 2 son is a surgeon and he says his favourite patients are people who lived thru WWII – they're tough, don't complain, are appreciative and as noted are the most giving generation

Bill;

My sincere condolences. As a fellow Gator and veteran I will lift a glass in memory of your dad tonight. I will not mourn his passing but rather celebrate his life.

Bill,

As others have said above, thank you for sharing the story of your father's life and his service during WWII. Your memories of his life and his service touched me deeply, largely because they remind me of those of my own dear departed father, may he Rest In Peace. May your father's memory be for a Blessing to you and all the others who knew and loved him.
