For those who are well informed…

I know – and really like – the Peter Pig 15s, large line, quite complete.

Still, what other options are there in 15s?

Also, I have seen Minairons in 20mm – they look OK but seem to have a limited selection and pronounced mold lines.

Any other options in 20mm? How do the Minairons look next to 1:72 or 1:76 scale figs?

Is Plastic the way to go instead?

In 15mm Minairons do vehicles and flags (and I have some on clearance at ScaleCreep.com).

QRF have a small range in 15mm including several vehicles. They also have useful kit in their WW1 range. I have a few packs in stock and am well stocked on the WW1 kit.

Khurasan is just starting a new range in 15mm.

A Danish company "The Late Queen" had a range but I don't know if they are still trading.

As for 20mm I also have Minairons figs on clearance, but don't know how they size up I'm afraid.

Minairons is compatible with all 1:72 figures.
Look at Civilian militia and Volksturm.

Yes….Plastic 1/72 is quite well represented. I am doing 25mm as i have a whack of the old FAA line (sculpted by Paul Barnshaw, sadly deceased awhile Ho now), and i have a whack of vehicles to go with them.

Stalkey and Co, what rules do you plan on using for the battles?

Another vote for 1/72. Bandera is another nice metal option, and there's Irregular too. Alongside those, Minairons' great line, BUM and lots of plastic conversions make up my SCW collection. No offense to Martin and Peter Pig. I've never gotten the chance to work with their SCW range, I'm sure it's wonderful. The abundance of plastic options and conversion opportunities is the big draw of 1/72 for me.

Hi,
Maybe you can contact Ebro miniatures an ask them if they print in smaller scales ( I know they do greater ones) if you need some variety.

Cheers.

@Makhno
Bandera is interesting. It was sold in USA by Historical Products Company but it is hard to tell if they are in business.

@Umpapa
CP Models and Elhiem Miniatures have nothing Spanish listed.

@Cormac Mac Art
I'm going to use the wonderful little set in Wargaming an Introduction by Neil Thomas. With a few tweaks and adding the necessary LoS and terrain rules.

@Stalkey and Co

I haven't heard of that book yet. Looks interesting.

I'm actually doing a ton of research on the SCW at the moment. I'm working on converting the Battlegroup rules to the SCW.

Check out Primera Batalla! – The Spanish Civil War 1936-39 for a great overview of the forces and some excellent army lists.
