After my recent ECW game, where the Royalists failed so spectacularly against the doughty Covenanters, I decided Charles' men needed a dragoon unit. These Tumbling Dice figures have sat, half completed for many months. It didn't take too long to finish them off.

Let's hope they make a difference.

A good looking unit, even if they are Royalists. grin wink

I would guess, my dear Colonel, that your surname gives your proclivities away?

If they lean towards the Covenanters, you'll be pleased to hear my army of the Covenant is lead by Archibald Campbell, Duke of Argyll.

They're nice, thanks for sharing. Very underated are Civil War dragoons – they line hedges is pretty much what a majority think.

Of course the wargamer's dilemma is how to do the mounted/dismounted thing, and horseholders!

Can't remember who (contemporary military type) argued that all foot soldiers should be dragoons. I've been looking at the Hertfordshire Auxiliaries recently, their volunteer regiments had horse, dragoon and foot troops in each regiment (at least one had an artillery piece too).

Nice work.

Very nice work but at least part of their good looks is because they ARE Royalists. God save the King!
