1. It needs a new/larger venue. Chicago has McCormick Place, WITH hotels and parking. 2. Send the badges in the mail. Registration line was a cluster . 3. Between tournaments and Narrative I like tournaments. They are friendly yet have some rigor. None of this "I think the round will end about 10:30". Hey poindexter, you brought your meta list to a narrative event and won all your games. You must be proud. 4. DAMMIT, no Golden Demon slayer sword. Some feedback would be nice: the base was too simple. Highlights aren't all blended. I did enter so don't have to hold my manhood cheap for not trying. 5. An Event Best Painted: that's dope. 6. Bought a Creos PS-270. Time to spray! |

"1. It needs a new/larger venue. Chicago has McCormick Place, WITH hotels and parking.: Ready to pay A LOT MORE for the con experience? You might be, but others won't. Better yet, join the group that runs the con and volunteer to work at trying to establish a new venue, or perhaps ask the folks in charge about it.
"2. Send the Bleeped text badges in the mail. Registration line was a cluster Bleeped text." Agreed. They should be able to mail the badges to you.
"3. Between tournaments and Narrative I like tournaments. They are friendly yet have some rigor. None of this "I think the round will end about 10:30". Hey poindexter, you brought your meta list to a narrative event and won all your games. You must be proud." Are you ALWAYS this pleasant to people that volunteer to run games for others at conventions, or did you just not have your morning coffee today? "4. DAMMIT, no Golden Demon slayer sword. Some feedback would be nice: the base was too simple. Highlights aren't all blended. I did enter so don't have to hold my manhood cheap for not trying." Good job! "5. An Event Best Painted: that's dope." Nice! "6. Bought a Creos PS-270. Time to spray!" Cool! Let us know what you think of it and how well it works! |

ALWAYS this pleasant to people that volunteer to run games for others at conventions Those are my observations. It's always a pleasant "thanks for running the game". Note to self: don't do this next year. When you overhear "I thought each game was going to use all 50 modes, not 500 points from the 50". My list wasn't made for that." You know you're not alone. |

I think while you have good opinions and suggestions, may I suggest that you send them via email to the Adepticon staff, (especially the badge mailing issue)… |

I seem to recall a survey (monkey) so I can let them know I have issues! 😆 |

McCormick place is beyond Adepticon's budget. Even if they could afford it, the prices of hotels, food, etc. around McCormick would create a whole new set of problems. I agree that they need a new venue/location, but McCormick ain't it. |

Hyatt Regency Chicago. Looks like 150% in size and the Chicago Open was there last year. Nice place! |

A Chicago or Rosemont location is not an option. Then venue fees would be prohibitive, room rates quite a shock, parking another shock, and Union Labor Laws make the costs too high. Besides it then involves the three year Kennedy construction plan you ranted about before. Possibly the viable alternative would be Indianapolis. |

I have run conventions in the past and I know that changing locations, even in the same city, will cause a drop in attendance that you might recover in 2 to 3 years. now I dont go to this show so no dog in the fight but if the convention is just breaking even , the lower attendance could kill it before recovery. |

Tgerritsen- Good call there are two spots in the Milwaukee area that could accommodate their current footprint. mildbill-You are correct sir, there is always a hit. Their geographic demographics are getting similar to Gencon. With the difference being their local attendees making up about 25%. There are under contract in 2024 for the current site. Although I am not on their staff, I can make an educated guess that they are very, profitable. |

Given how attendance has exploded I would guess they are doing well. |

Indianapolis would be cheaper in the long run if it were to move, but I think if the suggestion was even to go that way, we'd see and hear a lot of griping, b*tching, wailing, and gnashing of teeth, like when Historicon went to Fburg, or the Baltimore idea…. The idea for Indy is good. Gen Con, despite it's current sj mindset and attitudes has found out that Indy is good for it's bottom line. |

Yes Indy is a good spot for conventions. I am partial as I live nearby. |
