Come out for the 2nd Annual HMGS-PSW Gaming Convention at the Mesa Convention Center in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday May 20 & Sunday May 21, 2023…

Here's a link to the convention website, where you can purchase tickets and register events:

Last year's convention had less lead time but still turned out to be a big success. This year we hope to exceed it with more attendees having more fun playing more games with more old and new friends alike.

Keep your eye on this post for updates as the con draws near and more games and other events are registered.

Last year's games featured lots of historical action stretching from Ancients to Moderns by way of Napoleonics, ACW, Old West, and Victorian Colonials (just to name a few!) but also included everything from Battle Tech to The Walking Dead.

If you're a gamer who lives in or around the Phoenix metroplex area or anywhere in the Southwest (I'll be driving in from Los Angeles and others I know will be coming from Texas) or beyond (last year we had a few long distance travelers from the Mid-West and Great Northwest) hope to see you there!

Looks good. Be sure to post a picture heavy AASR. As that is the best way to generate interest for next year.

That's sounds awesome E! Wish I could join y'all!

@Dave: Excellent advice! I may be back to post some pics from last year's convention in hopes of upping the recruitment power of this post!

@SgtGuinness: JEFF!!! Me too, my friend! Looks like Dan and Shawn are gonna team up with me to run Camerone. The con will be only 3 weeks following the 160th Anniversary of the battle, so I'm happy we can do it… but it would be even better if you, Capt. Lucas, Bob, Piero and Evil Giorgio could join us -- and Nick Stern! Like they used to say in my hometown every time the Dodgers lost the Series to the Yankees: Wait til next year!

I signed up to run a couple Gunfighter's Ball Old West games. Hopefully we can get something going here in the Southwest.

Well done & thank you, Rev Zoom! Hope to see you there!

I just submitted the Camerone game I mentioned above to commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the battle, so I'm definitely going now.

I agree, it would be cool to have a regional miniature convention here in the Southwest, where many of us are used to driving longer distances. I will be back to post some pics of last year's Mesa con to try and spread the word & drum up as much interest as possible here on TMP.

The convention center is in a nice part of town:

Above are just a few highlights of the 2022 convention, which was a success. If you're a miniature gamer in the Southwest or considering a visit to Mesa or anywhere in the Phoenix Metroplex this Spring, we encourage you to come play and/or run some games and help us make 2023 even better!
