In case you haven't tried it, if you are looking at a shortcut for generating battle reports, epic poems and such to describe your fantasy battles, ChatGPT is pretty amazing at that kind of thing! Also, given the same background information, it does a much better job than the Bing Chat Search. I have been using ChatGPT in a campaign game playtest, and it's a valuable tool and timesaver, at least in producing excellent drafts if not final products.

Anyone else using ChatGPT to enhance their fantasy minis campaigns? Is anyone paying the $20 USD to assist in generating graphics for their games?

SHAME!!

Don't you know the ethical and legal issues surrounding AI-generated art and writing prompts, and the potential threat they pose to the livelihoods of traditional artists and writers who have contributed to their success over the years.

Instead of training a machine to get "inspiration" from others' work. Read it and copy it yourself. Much better.

Ethical and legal issues? I assume you are being sarcastic, but just for the record, there are none. I've got lots of fantasy literature to borrow from already, and plenty of it resides (for free) with an internet search. Furthermore, I obviously wasn't putting anyone out of a job by using ChatGPT to enhance my gaming, rather I was saving myself time improving the product and adding instant flavor while getting a few laughs in the process.

Technology always moves on; buggy whip manufacturers must have been pissed-off initially, but were subsequently able to achieve new heights of success (and gainful employment) after the horseless carriage was developed. Let's learn from the past to achieve a brighter future.

Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

I'm beginning to suspect "Shawnzeppi2" is a robot😇

He was being sarcastic.

ChatGPT is useless for some things and treacherous for other things, but it's a *great* idea generator. Want a reason Traveller characters might want to explore an asteroid? Fifty odd things that might happen during a battle between a Roman Legian and a Celtic army? Just type in what you want.

But do it at night. Based on my experiences over the last few days it's busier and therefore dumber during business hours.

Swabian Grenzer, AGI even frightens ChatGPT CEO, Sam Altman "a little bit" and Elon Musk a lot, so you are in good company there. But ChatGPT is just an LLM. A Lex YouTube will make you feel better…

Not sure I'd pay $20 USD for the privilege. I'm more of a map person and if I needed I can get QGIS for free. As a GM I've always preferred working with what I write rather than anyone or indeed something else, because I intrinsically know what I've written and I have a half descent chance of finding things in my notes. I always loose stuff in published material which just messes with the flow for me. And keeping players focused can be like herding cats at the best of times…
