After a long while here another unit for my French Revolutionary army, in the mix of white and blue uniforms, here the 2nd batallion, distinguished by the colour, Maverick flags.

The miniatures were rigourously painted with Contrast paints, with the exception of the white hues, even the horse, this let to some lack in quality of painting enhanced by my new windows 11 where my old program to open images and set them out is gun and I am quite helpless with the new one.

For the miniatures I used different sets from SHO and even added – in case I am not mistaken – a drummer from Battle Honours 15 mm

I find contrast work great for horses en masse. Ideal for plastics where a very smooth surface. If any pitting, as in some metals, less effective (but fast!)

Black undercoat is so forgiving. Any missed spot does not show. With off white a bubble means a white spot when dry. I do now wash the white with nuln black to try to lessen that.

Your work is terrific and inspiring. I still cannot believe the spiral colours on the flag staff

Splendid as usual.
I moulded this mounted officer with longer sword now, it seems to be a little short on this previous version. And savage skirmishers will also appear soon.
If you need skirmishers for your Rules of course.

Nice work – also love the contrast paints for horses!

looking forward for the skirmishers, please note Sho does a marvellous job of the French Revolutionary infantry, you can create very nice units, mixing the different ranges he offers, also he is one of the very very very few, who shows the difference between the cartridge box of a sergent (smaller) to that of the usual soldier, great eye for detail, which I appreciate a lot.
