Is it okay if I start hunting old topics and tagging them for inclusion? |

Does 1/144 count as 10mm? |
Marc33594 | 05 Mar 2023 12:02 p.m. PST |
Long been debate what 10 and 12mm really translates to. Thats why most of us prefer a stated scale such as 1/144th. |

The description of the 10mm board says:
For discussion of 10mm and 1:144 scale figures and models for WWII wargaming I began asking for 1/144 threads to be copied onto this board on day 1. It looks like machinehead has been doing that too. As I type this, literally all the posts on the 10mm board are about 1/144 scale. - Ix |

Nice, but as mentioned, 1/144th scale is REALLY 12mm, but I digress. Okay with the misclarification, since at least we are closer to the goal. |

I agree there is a difference, but I decided to charge into the gap rather than attempt the long and costly flank march to the perfect jump-off point. Those of us who are really picky about 1/144 scale will no doubt continue to clarify the scale in the subject, the OP, and all along the thread. |

Well said. I just don't want people getting confused, especially since 10mm seems to be about 1/180th – 1/200th scale, and there are/were some manufacturers that produce Cold War minis in that scale also. |
Yellow Admiral | 10 Mar 2023 11:44 p.m. PST |
I don't think that's right. 1/200 is really a different scale, and quite a bit smaller. I've never seen it called "10mm" before. WWII 10mm is mostly 1/160 to 1/150 scale, with a growing amount of it verging into "large 1/150" under the inevitable pressure of scale creep. If you can stand to mix sculpting styles and varying interpretations of bulk and proportion, there are 10mm miniatures that mix into 1/144 collections without much issue. This has been discussed (and photographed) a bunch in a lot of the 1/144 threads. Heck, FlyXwire is even mixing Perrin 10mm with 1/144 tanks, and that seems to work out alright. See the last few posts in this thread. |

:))) I'm always late to the party – as I've just notice the new 10mm section here – nice. TY Bill, and to Yellow Admiral and others for kickin' us members enough in the tail to get the idea here rolling all the way to Berlin! Hey btw, I can mix my 10mm Perrin's with my tanks, 'cause they're on those big, fat stands! :))) |

Now you just have to go through your considerable backlog of 1/144 and 10mm WWII posts, and flag at least some for inclusion here. - Ix |

Welcome addition! :) 1/200 is completely diferent scale.About 8mm. 'Some' 6mm 1/285 figs fit ok with 1/200. 'Giants'! Others not. 1/285 is not 1/300, but 1/300 figs fit best! 10mm / 1/144 largely similar… can usually 'fit' but 'earlier' 10mm cast vehicles tended to be a bit 'smaller'. Perrin or 'older' Pendraken. Newer stuff about same. Inf Fine! If it 'looks'ok… well! |
