I am going over the rules and I have hit some problems. First, I was going over combat. Ships firing at missiles and then missiles hitting ships. I can't find anything on what do I roll? What do I roll to hit with a missile? What do I have to roll to shoot down a missile or plane? It just isn't there. Second, the section on detection. On a 10 sided dice you have to roll 9 or below. It then has modifiers. But every modifier is a negative which means you can always detect? It says even if the ship has taken damage, it gets a negative modifier to detect an incoming missile. I am very confused. Help. |

The to-hit numbers for all the weapons systems are in the weapons tables at the back of the rules. The modifiers are not die roll modifiers they are applied to the target number. So to detect an FBP in land shadow (for example) Base 9, target under 1000tone (-1), target has land behind… (-2), for a final roll required of 6 or less. Hope that helps Cheers David |

In the real world, a lot of times a hit by a large missile or torpedo will result in shock damage, which can frequently knock out your sensors too. It's been a while since I played SW, and I think you roll for systems/weapons to be KO'd when hit, so that is probably covered there. |
