Wow!!! That is WAY beyond amazing. It is absolutely awesome! thumbs
You should publish a print on demand book filled with pics and descriptions of the battle. I also love that it's in 1/72 scale. This is truly an incredible acomp!ishment. Very well done!!!! Thanks John |

Great pictures. I would love a link so I can zoom in. |

That looks truly amazing. Looking at, for example, the Hougoumont garden picture, do you think you have been able to learn anything about how the attacks might have played out? You have clearly done a mass of research, but I wonder if actually setting out the troops might have produced some new insights. |

Thanks so much everyone, the link is link Lots of research has gone into the troop dispositions. On the Allied side at Hougoumont, the Flank companies of the Foot Guards garrison the farm and chateau, Major Bugsen's Nassau Battalion hold the south facing garden wall; Hanoverian survivors from the wood are behind them. 2nd Foot Guards hold the east wall of the garden. The 3rd Foot Guards are at the North end of the orchard, backed by there Brunswick Leib Battalion and some Avant Garde. |

Wow! Truly amazing! Thanks for posting. Looking at the scenes of massed troops, I am reminded of the packed crowds leaving a stadium at the end of a game. Everyone is jammed together at first but slowly diffuse away as the distance to the exits increase. Admittedly there is little indirect fire in the crowds in such events, but the resemblance is interesting, at least to my small mind. Thanks! |

The link that Captain Siborne posted got messed up. Here is a better link: generalpicton.blogspot.com This is a stupendous undertaking. It really gives a good feel for the crowding on a battlefield, especially the amount of room needed for artillery units. Jim |

Do you have any more 'tour dates' planned? I'd love to see this in person! |
Captain Siborne | 15 Feb 2023 1:23 p.m. PST |
Nothing planned at the moment – it's a massive logistical effort to set up but I'll let you know when new dates are agreed. |

Thank you for posting the photos. I had been contemplating attending one of the lectures but it would have meant a long drive home in the dark and I don't find that fun anymore. |

Fantastic! Just great to pour over the photos and be in awe at the shear numbers and the work involved. |

@Captain Siborne…I see your TMP profile says you're interested in Napoleonics? How many square feet does the entire display take up? It seems to be large enough that getting it all into a single still shot is impossible…the vision and fortitude required is really pretty stunning. The next time you get it all together, I vote for having someone with really good small drone piloting skills take panoramic footage across the entirety…that would be mind blowing. |

Many thanks LongShot! Phase 1 focussed on the buildings of Waterloo. Phase 2 will focus on the cavalry charges. Phase 3 on D'Erlon. Phase 4, the Grand Battery. The eventual diorama will be the size of a tennis court. I've actually already had a request to overfly with a drone but vetoed that on grounds of possible pilot error! |

Absolutely brilliant, James. You, Liam and the others deserve a standing ovation. I hope to be there next year, to view that year's effort in person |
