This started life as a sand mold from Dollar Tree but works well with 28mm figures after paint was applied.

So that's the mold?

I bought several of these a few years back, never did anything with them.

Did you have any trouble getting the paint to adhere to that kind of 'shiny' plastic?

Some acrylics will stick to the sand castle stuff well, others not. Worst case, you do a couple of extra coats to get coverage.

Krylon primer will set you up some pretty much any paint will do well. inlgames.com/sandc.htm

I made sure to clean it and make sure there weren't any shiny areas. It took three Dark basecoats before I went to the browns for drybrushing.
