"If there's one thing my daughter loves, it's playing. And especially playing with his dad. And since Dad plays figurines… guess what she regularly asks to play? So we play Mars: Code Aurora together from time to time. She quickly assimilated the rules, and the games are fluid. However, there is still one point that is complicated for her: the measurements…." Interesting article. The guy incorporated a number of ideas to make the game kid friendly. I remember gaming with my son when he was in grade school, . Using the "Translate" button to translate from French to English got me to wondering about national styles. Basically, China, the Soviet Union/Russia, and the United States have built space craft, so it is their design ideas that dominate. The Americans in particular because of our space films and television. What might it look like if we had French design aesthetic for the interior of our starships? I don't know that I'd go so far as to put Captain Kirk in a swiveling Louis Quatorze chair on the bridge of the Enterprise, I'm just thinking that spaceships designed by French, Germans, Italians, Indians, or Thai might look significantly different. Will have to mull over this one. Obviously, I don't know what Tango01's goals in posting are, but it strikes me that getting us to look at gaming in a different way might be one of them. Grelber |
