It's tragic but I have to admit that I am really looking forward to Salute already. It isn't until April, but I can hardly wait.

It has been a long time (I couldn't make the 2021 November edition…oh, and there was a pandemic….)

JimDuncanUK03 Feb 2023 2:13 p.m. PST

Not really. It is a show I would find difficult to attend being at the far end of the country. Budget and health considerations make it a strain on the wallet which far outweighs any advantage of being there.

For those of you who will be there 'good luck' and 'enjoy yourself'.

Fortunately, for me, there are several other shows feasible for me. Long live the UK show scene.

Yes. The November 2021 event was a huge disappointment. Hopefully normal service is resumed in April.

I'm pleased they're going to have one. Does that count?

But it's a long trip, I've already got plenty of stuff, and when I need more, I can generally buy it over the 'net.

Any excitement or even general feelings of good will for the event even if not attending do count.

I look at Salute going ahead and being confident of it actually happening as a big step forward. I fully understand anyone who has particular health concerns about attending, and I hope that they'll be able to come along in 2024 or 2025 as the situation continues to improve.

It's the three phrase slogan, isn't it?

Keep Safe, Buy Minis, Roll Dice

I'm looking forward to going again and enjoying the hospitality of London's wargaming folks, never had a bad time hanging out with them!

I have 600 minis to finish painting and base, so excited is not the work. Anxious is the word. ;-)

I'm just happy to see that's it's still going strong on it's 50th year.

No , the standards of games have dropped except for the odd one .
It's going more fantasy,
The sellers seem to be selling the same stuff.

Best show in UK to look at loads of stuff and buy too much. Worst for feet!

Volleyfire12 Apr 2023 12:32 p.m. PST

Never been, never felt inclined to go, probably never will.It being way down in London is a major put off for me for a start. A friend goes, he gets very excited about it all

ConnaughtRanger12 Apr 2023 1:35 p.m. PST

Not sure how we can moan about 100+ games we haven't seen yet or 130+ traders, many of whom never appear anywhere else in the UK?

arthur181513 Apr 2023 8:16 a.m. PST

No, as I won't be attending – too far, too expensive – but I wish the Warlords every success with it.

Warspite113 Apr 2023 1:47 p.m. PST

Biggest issue is the cost of getting there. The car parking costs are lethal and there is no discount for Blue Badges.
Meanwhile the SELWG show is closer to the M25, may not incur congestion charges and has free parking for all.

I may be at Salute this year but it is a big "Do I? Don't I?" at the moment, for all the reasons stated.
