After carving buildings for games out of foam board, I often end up with large piles of little squares, rectangles, and archways of varying sizes from cutting out doors and windows. I'm currently building these as fast as our local developers are throwing up new luxury condos, so I've got a really large pile of scraps.

Does anyone have suggestions for what I should make out of these? I usually game in 1/72, and the shapes are mostly beteen 1 and 2 inches. Once I cut them down smaller to make stones for a bunker, but I'd rather not cut them up too much more. Just curious if anyone has ideas!

Ruined structures, especially corner positions.

Four or five squares/rectangles 1 to 2" in dimension could be assembled into a shanty for a shantytown (19th-century to modern), maybe with a corrugated cardboard roof painted as corrugated tin. For earlier periods, they could be made up into booths for a bazaar/marketplace maybe?

Ruins, corners, shanties …

glue them into columns to make piled rock formations

smaller piles can make junkyard/scrap terrain

glue them perpendicular to a baseboard for a labyrinth or hive

cover them with flock and use a darker flock on the baseboard to turn the laby into a hedge maze

(spiral) stairway to nowhere

stepping stones across a marsh

tetrised together on a baseboard = stone floor or wall

random small piles on modular baseboards that make a pattern/spell a word from GEV

opposite of ruins … houses. buildings under construction

obstacle course / parkour facility

… hope those help

Bunkers, statue bases, dragon teeth, fountains

Cut the rectangles into triangles and use underneath model roofs to reinforce.
