Paul Johnson passed away yesterday at the age of 94. IMHO one of the best historians ever. Studied under AJP Taylor. He wrote many books and articles. My 2 favourite books being Birth of the Modern and Modern Times. Ronald Reagan's favourite historian. Received Medal of Freedom. Do not make them like this any more. RIP Paul. |

Yes. I have taught several of his books, including History of Christianity and Modern Times. He was a great historian. |

I still have the copy of "Modern Times" I read downstairs in the bookcase. A great book from a great author. It made we want to understand the philosophy and ideas behind our current world. BTW John, where is your copy of "Modern Times"? Joe Collins |
