"New 3D Colony ships for Stars & Lasers" Topic

I have been able to get some work done on some new ships that I am designing for Stars & Lasers, this time the ships will be used as a Human Colony fleet.

It is still a WIP although I think most of the ones I have done so far will not change much.

So far I have done a Corvette, Frigate, Destroyer, Light Cruiser, Heavy Cruiser and a Fighter Carrier.

Very nice. I like the carrier and what I assume is a command deck. I'm trying to 3d print some ships in PLA; let's just say that they are not coming out nearly as nice as yours.

I've been looking to get some Fighter Carriers for some of my games but I don't think a design where the fighters have only one point on the ship to land and take off is practical.

I prefer a design similar to current naval carriers where the fighters land at the back end and take off in the direction the ship is facing.

Brigade do something like this with their Chinese carriers.

@Stryderg thanks, mine are printed on an FDM printer at my highest resolution but they still come out with some odd detail mishaps!!!
My issue is that the settings are out slightly, I just can't get them right.

@BattlerBritain I get what you are saying and if I do the bigger escort carrier for this fleet it will have two launch bays / openings similar to my UEF escort carrier.
I did actually think about doing a "back" entrance on this ship but I just couldn't get it to fit anywhere and look plausible.
