Anyone try this clear coat on minis? link How does it compare to Testor's Dullcote? Its certainly a lot cheaper, and more accessible; Michaels and Wal-Marts here are out of stock of the latter. |

I use them all the time. They are very good and have had no problem with them over the years and they are much cheaper. I get them from Walmart. |

I've used Rustoleum Clear Matte Spray before as it is cheap and pretty good, but not this particular version. Honestly, the 'Chalky' part scares me, but test it on a disposable figure first. I'm a huge fan of Winsor & Newton General Purpose Matt Varnish. I haven't found a better product yet. Good luck |

I found it was not quite as good as Dullcote at actually dulling figures. I'm still using Dullcote. I like Winsor & Newton matte spray just as much as Dullcote, but that's not a cost savings. - Ix |

Krylon Matte finish. #1311 i have tried many but this is really good and inexpensive. Just make sure it is the #1311. |

+1 Krylon Matte finish. #1311. Available at Wal-Mart, Michael's, etc., in the USA. Apply light coats, using multiple coats, if necessary. If you go too heavy on a coat, it will turn your miniature white. Had to re-paint one, as applying a clear gloss coating did not resolve the issue, at all. Lesson learned. Cheers! |

Krylon Matte for me, usually over a gloss finish for extra protection. |

Krylon Matte. But I also use the Army Painter matte spray as well, which is not a cost savings! |

Dullcote is the best I have used. Krylon Matte is good and Army Painter matte is good but expensive. Have not tried Rustoleum Chalk Clear Matt but the regular R matt is not as dull. |

Mister Super Clear and Testor Dullcote FTW. Big spray cans of "matt" topcoat have given me weird and frustrating milky results on occasion. I think it's heavily influenced by humidity. Never had the problem with Mr. SC or Dullcote though. |

I prefer Krylon but its seems to have disappeared from the shelves everywhere. I can only find the Rustoleum now. Its not as good. It tends to go on more thickly and not as evenly. |
