I've been looking for some 28mm US Marine figures wearing the undress uniform, like the one in the movie The Wind and the Lion. Has anyone seen anything like that?

Look at Old Glory's Boxer Rebellion range, if you want them in slouch hats -

You might try Askari Miniatures or Pulp Figures websites.

Or, with an alternative paint job, you could turn the Japanese infantry into fairly reasonable "The Wind and the Lion" U.S. Marines.

Thanks for the input all, the Old Glory SpAm figs are what I'm looking for, caps rather than floppy hats. Though I have a question on their size. Are they actually 25mm, which would look weird next to Pulp or Copplestones, or are they really 28mm?

They are much closer to 28mm. When I see 25mm I alway go to the RalPartha true 25mm. They do not mix well with Old Glory.

I have both Old Glory and Pulp in front of me now. The pulp figures are slightly larger, but not more so than normal men.

They do make good leader figures.

Another option is Tiger miniatures from Recreational Conflict. The Marines have the sleeves rolled down (the Old Glory Marines are wearing short sleeves that do paint up as rolled.

These figures are quite a bit larger than Old Glory. I purchased some of the officers and Civil Guard. The rifles on the figures seemed oversized with the Old Glory and needed to be cut down. Also, the horses were way oversized, and I needed to replace them with Old Glory mounts.

Two final thoughts:

The 1898 miniatures, excellent figures, but are very small, and I would not suggest them.

I do have some side-by-side photos and if you get me your e-mail, I can send them.
