I'm trying to find out if armies of the mid-17th century, specifically the conflict between Sweden and Poland, wore uniforms of any type and, if so, are there any references that are relatively easy to access. I know that by the end of the 17th century Sweden had uniforms, but I don't know about the 1650's.

Pretty sure the Swedes were in uniforms, at least by regiment (see the 30 Years War as a proxy). As for the Poles, I imagine the 'foreign' regiments would be ; I'd like to know about the 'native' infantry and cavalry. I think the Winged Hussar squadrons may not have been uniformly dressed, as I think they provided their own equipment.

As for Polish and Lithuanian armies: cavalry tend not to have any sort of uniforms, as each companion provided equipment (including clothes) to his retinue. Only some private and guard unit could, on occasion, be in same colours.
Foreign infantry, dragoons and haiduks did indeed have, at least 'on paper' uniforms, although in practice it looks very different.
All information that I managed to gather about it will be in my new book, 'Against the Deluge', that should be at some point this month available from Helion & Company:
