Very nice looking terrain; I liked the effect of the different flocks and the hills and elevations. The one suggestion I'd make is to include a road or two – Napoleonic armies were never far from roads. The troop stands were well painted and instantly recognizable by type. They look to be mounted "Napoleon's Battles" style, namely 4 infantry on a .75"x1" (18mm x 25mm) base, but the formations appear to be battalion-level formations (line, columns of division, and march columns). Again I only have one real suggestion – get those Austrians some flags! Well done. I wish my early wargames, back in the long ago, had looked as good. |

@eumelus thank you for your reply! It's true. The board is incomplete. I'm currently making a building or two for the counter flat go round then a road or two (like suggested) leading from it. Any other pointers? |

Nothing major, as I said from what I could tell in the photos all of the troops look very nicely painted and I could instantly tell all the uniforms. If I had one other minor suggestion it would be to flock the tree bases. What rules are you using? And who won the Thanksgiving battle? |

We used BP1 rules and the scenario was as follows. The French needed to advance and break through the "valley" that the Coalition started at. Conditions for victory for the French where 1. Capture and hold the forest 2. Control either of the hills outside the valley 3. Have at least 2 units and a commander in the valley for a turn to "pass through". The French made early progress and pushed the coalition forces back against the cliffs and captured the forest early on. But a battalion of Russian grenadiers where able to break the line and allowed an all out cav charge that ended up spelling our doom. Was great fun though! good first battle |
