"Each soldier had his personal equipment in a purse hanging from his belt. Each soldier had two belts: a belt on the inside and a stronger belt with a knife, lighters and a purse which could contain various small items like fine combs on the outside of his cloth. For everyday life he also had a pot to cook in, dishes and trays of wood for serving and wooden bowls to drink from. There have also been various jewelry, glass and amber beads, amulets and dress pins to keep their clothes in place. The soldiers also brought board games and dice for leisure use…"
