Heads up – just saw this.

Apologies for the incorrect time listed in the header – will try to get an editor to correct it.

The good thing is you have more time to set your DVR to record it.

TCM is running a documentary about the Lancaster bomber at 1:30 AM – 3:30 AM, Pacific, on Tuesday morning.

Just found this out by accident.

Enjoy!

For one glorious moment, I thought they were doing a special on the Host.

Alas, this didn't happen.

I hate it when the on-screen TV guide listing is wrong.

Burt Lancaster did attend in its place, in The Crimson Pirate.

Don't know when, if ever, the documentary on the Lancaster Bomber will be shown, which is a pity, since I was looking forward to that.

Time to search Youtube I suppose.

You know, in this green screen CGI era, we could have Burt flying in on the bomber to give us a tour of the Host--a Lancaster trifecta!

Just finished watching all 1hour and 50 minutes of it here in the UK. Brilliant

My wife found it fascinating having never heard of Peenemunde for example, but the best bit (by far) was the veterans' recollections of their experiences.

The pure documentary history was good, from Hamburg, the dams, Berlin, Normandy, the Nuremberg disaster and Dresden. They showed Tallboy and Grandslam, but curiously missed the Tirpitz, for which there is great film.

Very moving indeed.

and it turns out that Johhnie Johnson, the last surviving member of the dams raid, interviewed in the programme, died on Wednesday aged 101. RIP
