Apparently, Russia is bombarding Ukraine with missiles, but they also fired at least a couple of them into Poland, killing at least two people there. link It is unclear how, or if Poland, the US, and/or NATO will respond. Clearly, Putin and the Russians are playing with fire, and I don't believe in errant missiles. Russia should have kept a large buffer away from Poland, if their missiles are that inaccurate. Hopefully, this will galvanize the world to place a total boycott on Russia now, and bring about the downfall of Putin as soon as possible. |

I'm sure it WILL trigger the defense alliance, so perhaps Ukraine AND Poland will get more SAMs and AAA. Seems the least they can do. |

Poland has invoked Article 4 of the NATO Treaty which calls for consultations, certainly requiring a detailed review of the physical evidence and ideally, radar and satellite data. A finding under Article 4 would allow significant material responses such as both defensive and possibly added offensive weaponry for Ukraine but it is highly unlikely to result in a declaration that Article 5 is involved, particularly as it is the call of the Polish Government as to whether to invoke Article 5. |
