Has anyone played o group and panzer grenadier deluxe, looking for a comparison, wanting to try something other than battlegroup for a change. |

They aren't the same scale, so I am not sure how well they would compare. Why are you sticking to David Brown rules, are you his nephew or something? |

Not bothered they are different scale, I am happy to play Battlegroup and rapid fire, got enough kit to do anything except the biggest of games. Just fancied a bit of a change. No not his nephew, just like his style of rules, ie general de brigade picketts charge etc. I have a copy of panzer grenadier just never got around to playing it, and I keep hearing good things about O group. |

I've just got O Group and am reading through it. It has a good feel to it for a Battalion action. Also RMD was/is one of the authors so I can see his influence in it and it's a good one. I can just recommend getting a copy and trying it. I don't think you'd be disappointed. Hope this helps, B |

I've only played O Group, so can't do the comparison. The people who have played it at the club – including myself – have enjoyed it. |

I have played and enjoyed both. Slightly differing scales of representation. O Group is rigid in size of game (ie single Bttns of essentially 3-4 Coys vs 2-3 Coys with supports) PzGr is more flexible in size of game in that you can do smaller size games or indeed larger (table size allowing). Not sure which edition of PzGr you have but the Deluxe version is one to go for as much slicker than previous sets. All IMHO and not related to Mr Brown :-) Some reports for both sets on my Blog, you may have to search for the PzGr stuff as been awhile since used. sgtsteiner.blogspot.com |
