I've used this scenario a lot of times before in several different periods. The river is only fordable at the centre table sector. Each player divides his army in two and attempts to take control of the ford. The balance of forces on each half table is virtually infinitely variable [the 100/0 split is permissible]. If you allow hidden troops in the woods on the hill it adds a bit more spice. On this occasion we didn't really get a clear result due to time, but there were Austrian feet in the water so I conceded.
